Shooting suspect, felon
admits to owning firearm

A Farrell man who faces charges connected to the October 2002 shooting of Daniel Dragicevic pleaded guilty Monday to an unrelated firearms charge before Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas R. Dobson.

Chinello "C-Lo" Blaski, 23, pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm. Blaski, a convicted felon, is prohibited from owning a gun. The crime is a felony; he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Police arrested Blaski at his apartment at 252 Spearman Ave., Farrell, on Oct. 25, 2002, on a bench warrant. Blaski was on parole at the time for a previous robbery conviction, according to court testimony.

During the arrest, probation and parole agents found a stolen semi-automatic handgun in Blaski's apartment. He was charged with receiving stolen property, the firearms violation and possession of a controlled substance after agents found half an ounce of crack in the ceiling of the apartment.

In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped the remaining charges.

Blaski also faces unrelated charges stemming from a home invasion last Sept. 25.

Police said Blaski entered the home of Daniel Dragicevic of 504 Beechwood Ave., Farrell, and demanded to be taken to the safe.

Dragicevic took Blaski to the basement, police said, and Blaski shot him in the leg.

Blaski faces charges of attempted robbery, aggravated and simple assault, burglary, reckless endangerment and another firearms violation for the shooting. He is expected to be tried on those charges next month, said Assistant District Attorney Robert Kochems.

At the beginning of Monday's hearing, there was discussion of Blaski pleading guilty to aggravated assault and burglary in connection with the shooting, but he did not enter a plea on that case.
