By Jeff Greenburg Herald Political Writer Hempfield Elementary School in the Greenville Area School District is among dozens of Mercer County facilities and municipalities that are one step closer to obtaining federal assistance for damage caused by the swath of severe summer storms. Officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency set up shop at the 911 Center in Mercer on Monday and scheduled their first one-on-one meetings with county municipalities on Tuesday, according to Mercer County Emergency Management Agency Deputy Director John R. Nicklin. Nicklin noted that carpeting had to be replaced in Hempfield Elementary and the school district should be eligible for assistance. |
