Festival to support center's work in rehabbing wildlife

Sometimes something spiritual can provide a way to help in the natural world. At least that is the feeling of Maryjane Angelo, whose family owns Skye's Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center in Harrisville.

Saturday and Sunday, the wildlife rehab center will host a Fall Spirit Festival from 11 a.m. to dusk. It will include traditional American Indian drumming and dancing, crafts, tomahawk throwing and other demonstrations.

"We're Native American. We feel this is a great circle. Wildlife was here before we were. We feel we have to keep this great circle going," said Mrs. Angelo, who is a Lakota Indian. Her husband Robert is descended from Mohawk Indians.
