enters guilty plea A former two-time all-state football player from Farrell High School has pleaded guilty to assault before Mercer County Common Pleas Judge Thomas R. Dobson and faces up to 4 years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Demar Allan Claiborne, 19, of 389 Emerson Ave., Farrell, pleaded guilty to simple assault and two counts of disorderly conduct in connection with a brawl at a March 9 party at a Spearman Avenue home in Farrell. In court Monday, Claiborne said he got into a fight with another person at the party. When police arrived, according to court testimony, Claiborne ran. Claiborne, a freshman at Thiel College in Greenville, is scheduled for sentencing Nov. 5 before Dobson. He also is charged for his alleged involvement in the brawl that erupted during a high school basketball game between Sharon and Farrell on Feb. 2, 2002. |
