Relatives and friends of Elliott Andrew Campbell crowded the courtroom at District Justice James E. McMahon's office Thursday to hear testimony against the man accused by police of killing him. Michael Anthony Rogers, 29, of Farrell faces charges of criminal homicide and carrying a firearm without a license in the shooting death of Campbell, 27, of Hermitage. Shawna Barnett, 24, testified for nearly an hour about how she witnessed what led to the June 16 shooting outside Styles Restaurant & Lounge, 396 E. Budd St., Sharon. Ms. Barnett, who was not required to give her address in open court, gave the following testimony: She arrived at the bar around 11 p.m. June 15 and about an hour later saw Rogers, but didn't have any contact with him. She knew who Rogers was, but they were not friends. At 1:30 a.m. she saw Campbell, whom she had known for about 10 years, and briefly spoke with him. |
