Charges head to court against man who ran

Without any testimony being given, all charges against a Sharon man who was accused of running from the Sharon police were held to Mercer County Common Pleas Court Thursday by District Justice James E. McMahon.

Attorney Randall Hetrick said the defense would agree to send to cout all charges for two cases against Alvin Combs III, 33, of 264 New Castle Ave., in exchange for a plea agreement.

On Aug. 5 police went to a home on Prindle Street to arrest Combs on a warrant for simple assault, making terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver marijuana in connection with a June 4 incident.

Police said Combs ran from them and for several hours they chased him through the city. The Herald published pictures of Combs running on Aug. 6.

Once caught, Combs was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, flight to avoid apprehension and resisting arrest.

Hetrick said from the first incident Combs will plead guilty to possession of a controlled substance, and in the second incident, he will admit to flight to avoid apprehension and criminal trespassing.

Combs is free on his own recognizance.
