A Hermitage man was critically injured when the car he was riding in plunged down an embankment late Saturday night in Hermitage. William Metz, 37, of 890 Clarksville Road, was listed in critical condition at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, a hospital spokeswoman said. Metz was a passenger in a car driven by Sherrie Riley, 39, of 159 Parkview Drive, Clark. The car missed a left curve at 11:56 p.m. while southbound on Trout Island Road, police said. It went over a guard rail and down a 20-foot embankment, police said. Metz was trapped and had to be freed by Hermitage firefighters, police said Ms. Riley was treated at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, a hospital spokeswoman said. ----------sty------> |
