Joyce Harris, 54, of Harrisville likes to share her common sense with people.

Next week, she'll be sharing beautiful scents along with her common sense during HerbFest 2003 at her business, Crystalaire Naturescapes and Garden Barn Gifts on South Main Street in Harrisville.

"HerbFest is learning now what to do with the herbs you've grown all year," she said. "It's also to inform people.

A lot of people think of herbs as parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme, and using them for cooking.

But there's a lot more to herbs than that.

She and her husband David have owned the nursery for 10 years and the gift shop for about four years.

Because of medical problems she has had, they are phasing out the nursery business and will be pursuing herb growing full time, along with the gift shop.
