Tom Toomey said he traveled all the way from Akron to spend Wednesday night enjoying himself with fellow bike enthusiasts.

It was his sixth time making the trip, and he said he thought the bikers' ball was "the place to be."

"This is what real bikers would be doing on a Wednesday night," Toomey said. "It's for everybody and it's worth the drive."

Motorcyclists from all over the area rolled into the village for Penn-Ohio Bike Night to share food, fun, camaraderie and entertainment with fellow biking enthusiasts, and event planners are riding high off the success of their inaugural year.

The weekly gathering has been part of the Wednesday evening entertainment landscape since April, said American Cycle Promotions' Tami Pearce, event promoter. Ms. Pearce said the event, which is held in conjunction with Yankee Lake Inc., will be held through October, if the weather permits.

The event kicks off at 4 p.m. and ends whenever, the Greenville native said. It features free admission, live entertainment, food stands, a burnout pit and motorcycle rodeo games; riders and nonriders alike are welcome.
