West Middlesex school directors must appoint someone to fill a vacancy on the nine-member board.

Connie David sent a letter to the board Monday saying she was resigning because of health reasons. Two years and two months are left on her term.

Mrs. David has served for four years. She was initially appointed to fill a two-year vacancy and then elected to the four-year seat she is leaving.

Directors may appoint someone or advertise the opening and hold public interviews before choosing a new director.
