Russo's new office draws compliments

By Joe Pinchot

Farrell Councilman Rudolph Hammond was opposed to moving the office of District Justice Henry J. Russo to Idaho Street and Spearman Avenue, Farrell.

Like other members of council, he wanted it to be at Spearman and Roemer Boulevard.

But he has changed his mind.

"Once I went into this new building and what was done to it and the space that is in there, I'm impressed with what I see," Hammond said.

Although finding a new district office for Farrell, Hermitage, West Middlesex, Wheatland and Shenango Township was an oftentimes politically divisive process, everyone seems to be pleased with what they ended up with.

The office opened Monday at its new location, 425 Idaho St. The county bought part of an existing building and property from Wesex Corp., West Middlesex, and has a condominium agreement with Wesex.

Wesex renovated the county's side of the building after consultation with Russo and county officials.
