By Patrecka F. Adams Conceptual plans for Brookfield's new cemetery were unveiled Wednesday. Thomas J. Van Dalen, vice president and director of architecture and planning for Tribute Design Systems, showed township trustees and other officials the black-and-white conceptual layout of the cemetery. "These are beginning ideas, the first steps into this," he said. "We'll fine- tune this and make it better ... make it work for everybody." Van Dalen said once changes are made to the design, if there are any, they'll be reviewed before the final drafts are completed. He and Jaime Fredenburg, road deparment manager, came up with the plans based on a program they'd been working on since May, Van Dalen said. The conceptual plans include about 1,000 square feet for an administrative office for storing records; a chapel area, which could hold up to 100 people for committal services, banquets and wakes and 900 to 1,000 square feet for equipment storage. |
