Hermitage officials want to keep their listing of vacant building space in the city "bare bones," said City Manager Gary P. Hinkson.

The city plans to compile a list of vacant space to post on a Web site and keep at the city building, but does not want to market the space, he said.

"It's more just an inventory," he told Hermitage Economic Development Commission on Thursday.

The list will include the name of the building or development, square footage, zoning district, contact information and a limited amount of special descriptive information.

Hinkson said he does not want to tie up a lot of staff time keeping the list current, so it will be up to the building owners or representatives to send updated information. The city is considering a twice-a-year e-mail notice asking for updated information, or a listing will be purged.
