Dominick R. Yeropoli, 23, of New Castle, pleaded guilty Tuesday to buying beer for a party Jan. 18 where a 17-year-old Hermitage boy died.

Yeropoli admitted to furnishing alcohol to minors, a misdemeanor, before Mercer County Common Pleas Judge Thomas R. Dobson.

Yeropoli admitted to buying the beer with the knowledge that it would be consumed by people under the age of 21.

Brian Daniel Grgurich, 17, of 1549 Catalina Place, died at the party from a mixture of alcohol and the pain killer methadone, according to the coroner's report.

Grgurich, who was a Hickory High School senior, fell asleep on a bed at the party at an apartment at 3206 Lamor Road. When he was checked on at 10 a.m., police said, he was dead.

Police found garbage bags full of more than 100 empty cans of beer and other alcoholic beverages and a half-empty gallon of vodka.

Dobson will sentence Yeropoli on Nov. 26.
