Bruner admits

A Sharon man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Mercer County Common Pleas Court to accepting a FedEx package containing five pounds of marijuana.

Michael Ralph Bruner, 27, of 301 Stambaugh Ave., pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. Bruner had faced conspiracy and paraphernalia charges as well but as part of the plea agreement those charges were dropped. In exchange, Bruner had to promise to cooperate with authorities in their ongoing investigation.

A drug-sniffing dog at a Federal Express warehouse in Youngstown found a package that contained marijuana. Police set the street value for the drugs at $7,500.

The package was turned over to the federal Drug Enforcement Agency's Task Force Airport Interdiction unit.

The package was addressed to a business owned by Bruner: Standard Stream Printing, 910 Roberston Road, Hermitage.
