After 27 years of working in human services in the county, Dana Frankenburg decided it's time to seek new opportunities.

One of those opportunities found its way to the embattled chief executive officer of Mercer County Behavioral Health Commission Inc. recently when he was offered -- and accepted -- the newly created position of director of government services with Hudson Group Inc., Hermitage.

In that position, Frankenburg, 48, of Pine Township, said he will be responsible for pursuing government building contracts for the company.

Last week, Frankenburg turned in his resignation, effective Nov. 28, to the Behavioral Health board of directors, who officially accepted it earlier this week.

"It's been absolutely a great privilege and honor to serve the agency as long as I have," said Frankenburg, who has been with Behavioral Health and its predecessor, Drug and Alcohol, for 23 years. "I leave with only a sense of considerable pride to the job, a job well done, and to so many accomplishments that I share with the board and staff."
