A sports complex moving into Springfield Township is wasting no time attracting more business to the area.

Born2Run developer Tom Linton has announced that a Clarion couple will be breaking ground soon on a Microtel they plan to build on 3 acres they bought at the complex site.

"I met with them Friday prior to our groundbreaking and finalized our agreement," said Linton of Hermitage. The property is part of the 30-plus acres Linton owns on state Route 208, west of Prime Outlets at Grove City.

Franchise owners John and Diane Habjan are excited about the venture.

"We are real thrilled and honored to be a part of the adventure, to see the community growing and be right in the middle of it," Mrs. Habjan said, adding they plan to open the motel next spring or early summer.

The Habjans own four hotels, including a Comfort Inn and Microtel in Clarion, a Bucktale Hotel and another Microtel, which is under construction, both in Marienville, where a state prison is going in. The Springfield Township hotel is their fifth.
