Football players and members of the marching band at Reynolds High School could be held accountable if they use drugs or alcohol if a new policy before the school board goes into effect. Wednesday night, school directors discussed a drug and alcohol testing policy for all high school students involved in athletics or extracurricular activities in the school district. "I'm strongly in support of this," said Superintendent Anthony Trosan. "For parents of these students, this is in your best interest." The point, said Board President Jeffrey Colson, is not to single out students; the policy is meant as a deterrent. "Drugs are in this area," he said. Dr. Trosan agreed. "Heroin and OxyContin are in this area, and they are killing people," he said. "This is for their own good." |
