'just lot of baloney' By Sherris Moreira-Byers Herald Staff Writer A ham steak may have come between a Perry Township couple but their assurance that it won't happen again led Friday to the withdrawl of assault charges against the woman who pitched the pork at her husband. On Sept. 7, Mary Alleyne Ecker, 43, of 1879 Airport Road, was charged with two counts of simple assault and one summary charge of harassment after injuring her husband with the piece of meat and threatening him with a kitchen knife, state police said. Her husband, Linwood Y. Ecker, 49, said he took the knife away from her and got out of the residence because he wanted the situation to calm down, not because he was afraid. "We both think this was blowed way out of proportion," he said. "People are people. I think it was just a lot of baloney." |
