A string of alleged crimes in the Shenango Valley has landed a former Wheatland man in Mercer County Jail.

Channing Gabriel Harris, 34, whose last known address was 219 Emerson Ave., was arraigned Friday before District Justice James E. McMahon. Bond was set at $100,000.

According to police, Harris stole a van from the Children of Zion Daycare Center on Thursday. The day care is located at Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, 1825 Roemer Blvd., Farrell. The van was reported stolen at 8:20 a.m.

Police said Harris took the van and drove it to the Dean Dairy plant at 1690 Oneida Lane, South Pymatuning Township.
