Teenager stabbed,
police say

A Sharon teenager is hospitalized after he was stabbed on a street corner Monday afternoon, police said.

Christopher Cordero, 16, of 815 Spearman Ave., was in stable condition Tuesday afternoon in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Christopher was arguing with a man at 4:13 p.m. at Budd Street and New Castle Avenue when the argument escalated to shoving, police said. The man pulled a knife or other edged weapon and slashed Christopher in the abdomen under his left rib cage, police said.

The man drove off in a red car with the right, rear window missing and covered with cardboard or plastic, police said.

Police said they believe the man and Christopher know each other, police said.
