By Lauri Galentine Herald Writer Last-minute change orders and emergency roof repairs will drive up the cost of Lakeview Area School District's high school renovation at least $10,000. The project was once again the main topic of discussion by the school board Monday. With a scheduled completion date at the end of the month, directors learned about additional work that needs to be done and a change order in the auditorium area that eliminates some work but adds a few other things. A few months ago, hallway flooring between the high school gym and the girls' locker room had to be torn up to replace a damaged sewer pipe that ran under it. The pipe was believed to have been damaged during the construction project and therefore was not originally a part of it. That work is now complete and the floor must be repaired. Directors awarded a $5,895 contract to level the floor and replace the tile to Knotts Interiors Inc. of Hermitage. Knotts was the lowest of three bidders. |
