Sharon school directors Monday unanimously appointed Daniel F. Gill to fill a vacant seat until December.

Gill, 54, of 1267 Glennwood Drive, is on the ballot in the November election. Gill has taught in Hubbard Local School District for 32 years.

"The way the election stands right now, he and Mr. (Christopher) Gavin will probably both be elected," board President Melvin Bandzak said. "It seems the logical step to take." Gavin, 51, lives at 919 Linden St.

The vacancy was created by the death of Director Joyce Grimenstein in September after a brief illness.
