By Michael Roknick Herald Business Editor Candidates for Mercer County commissioner talked dollars and tried to give a sense of their business views for the county on Wednesday. The five candidates responded to questions at a breakfast forum sponsored by the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce at the Hickory VFW. Independent Daniel Berent, Republicans Michele Brooks and George Pokrant and Democrats Olivia Lazor and Brian Beader all agreed having less government is better. At certain points they all said or indicated streamlining government may be required but acknowledged the county has to meet certain state mandates. |
