A Perry County man died of natural causes Friday in the infirmary of the State Regional Correctional Facility in Findley Township, prison officials said in a news release.

Russell John Hertzler, 50, of Duncannon, Pa., was serving 5 years to life for a 1998 conviction of sexual abuse of children, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors for the crime that occurred in Perry County.

The case involved the rape of an 8-year-old girl on Dec. 24, 1996.
