Public unveiling set for Nov. 5

More than two months after hiring a consulting firm to conduct a three-prong study regarding the future of Sharpsville's water plant, the firm is ready to present its findings to council.

Borough Manager Michael Wilson said Tuesday a special meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Sharpsville High School auditorium, during which representatives of Resource Development Management Inc. of Forest Hills, Pa., will release the report publicly. Wilson said residents are encouraged to attend.

Council President Jack Cardwell, however, said residents should "absolutely not" expect any final decisions to be made tonight.

Council hired RDM in mid-August to study options for the future of the nearly 50-year-old water plant.

The $9,700 cost came out of the borough's capital improvement fund.
