Michael Joseph Covert, 18, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after the accident; he was in fair condition Wednesday afternoon, a hospital spokesman said.

Covert, who was skateboarding in the northbound lane of Route 8, was hit by a northbound pickup driven by Adam James Ingram Ludwig, 19, of Grove City, police said.
