A Pulaski Township policeman was assaulted while making a drunken driving arrest over the weekend, state police in New Castle said. Patrolman Chad Adams stopped a car driven by Jason Lee Preisel, 25, of New Bedford, at 2:25 a.m. Sunday on Marr Road, police said. During the arrest, Preisel assaulted Adams, who was treated at the hospital of Jameson Health System, New Castle, police said. Preisel was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, drunken driving and traffic violations. He was taken to Lawrence County Jail. Pulaski Township Police Chief James Morris said Adams was "fine" Monday. He declined to comment on the incident, saying that since the policeman was a victim, state police were handling the case. All information and comments must come from them, he said. ----------sty------> |
