Twenty-eight-year-old Robert A. Palko Jr. has his pick of the two seats available on the board of supervisors in Shenango Township. Palko, of 803 Wheatland Road, was the top vote-getter in the six-year and two-year races, ousting incumbent William F. Williams Sr. "I feel very good," Palko said. "I'm very relieved that it's over." Palko said he probably will choose the six-year seat, leaving the two-year seat up to the board to fill. "It's not a runner-up gets the job type of thing," said James Bennington, Mercer County director of elections and registration. Williams, 65, of 54 Grange Road, could ask the board to appoint him to the seat. Palko scored more than 55 percent of the vote in both races. |
