input sought

A series of public meetings will give people in the Grove City area a chance to have their say about the area's future and, potentially, the county's future.

Sponsor Wolf Creek-Slippery Rock Creek Council of Governments is working on the creation of a joint comprehensive plan with area municipalities, which are Pine, Springfield, Liberty and Wolf Creek townships.

"Grove City borough started its own comprehensive plan and, because of that work, the neighboring communities in the Grove City (Area) School District are looking at a plan process as well," said project planner Rick Grossman of Graney, Grossman, Colosimo and Associates, Inc. of Grove City. "The joint timing is really kind of excellent because the county is looking into its plan and the community is looking at its plan for future growth and development."

Grossman said that his office will discuss with residents where the region is and where the region could go.

"What we're really going to try and focus on is multi-municipal issues. If you look at the situation here (in Grove City), the borough has full water and full public sewer. They offer a lot of municipal services but as for large-scale growth and development, they don't have land. The land is in the townships," he said.
