For the second time in as many months, the West Middlesex Area School Board will have to appoint someone to fill a vacant seat. Incumbent Republican Tom Hubert beat out Democratic hopeful Jonathan Fister for a two-year seat on the board in Tuesday's general election. However, Hubert and Fister both won four-year seats on the board. Hubert chose the four-year seat so the board must appoint someone to fill the two-year seat. In early October the board interviewed several candidates and chose Richard Turner of Lackawannock Township to fill a vacancy left by Connie David. Incumbent Glen W. Allen Jr. was also elected to a four-year seat. It was the first time Allen has been elected; he was appointed to the board in November 2002 to fill a vacancy left by Gary Koncar. |
