Development dubbed 'Legend' in works

A suburban legend is in the making in Pine and Liberty townships.

A 140-home development dubbed "Legends of Grove City" will be built on about 50 acres bounded by Center Church Road, Schmitt Road and Grove City Country Club property.

The development will bring public water and sewage into Liberty Township.

"I guess the biggest thing is, it's going to put us in the water and sewage business which we don't have now," said Liberty Township Supervisor Chairman Ronald C. Faull. "We're working with Pine and the (Grove City) borough. The water and sewage both come from the borough. The developers are going to put the lines in."

Tom Hosack, managing partner with Legends of Grove City and a principle in the real estate company Northwood Realty, which is handling the sale of the planned condominium-style community, said that the Grove City area's economic growth and the community itself was a deciding factor in bringing Legends to the area.

Plans began a year ago for the residential development in the two townships. The property, which is from an estate, is actually about 90 acres, but the developers were limited by about 40-plus acres of wetlands, Hosack said.
