Stoneboro Presbyterian Church, 7 Linden St., will mark its 125th anniversary Nov. 16. A dinner will follow the regular 11 a.m. church service that day. The Rev. Richard K. Horn, who has filled the pulpit for 10 years, is the pastor. His tenure will be completed Dec. 31. The church was organized Nov. 19, 1878, in Stoneboro Methodist Church. Evening services shortly after the organization were in a room off the second story of the Bonner Brick Building, on the present site of Helping Hands. The first Sunday school started shortly after. The Rev. Samuel Glenn was the first preacher, followed by the Revs. B.C. Critchlow and J.C. Chapman. |
