estimated after barn fire A fire Wednesday night in Salem Township roused many area firefighters and destroyed a barn. The fire began at about 11:30 p.m. at 187 Osborn Road in a barn owned by Tom Smith, Sheakleyville Volunteer Fire Chief Bob Shawkey said. The barn was a total loss. Shawkey said he estimates the damage to be between $300,000 to $400,000. The barn contained milking equipment, hay and straw, he said. There were cattle in the barn but Shawkey said to the best of his knowledge they were not hurt. |
