Ex-policeman
faces jail time
for 2nd DUI

A former Southwest Mercer County Regional patrolman faces jail time after pleading guilty to his second drunken driving offense in seven years.

On Nov. 11, Sherwood Burke Raymer, 31, of 108 18th St., Sharpsville, pleaded guilty to drunken driving before Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Wherry.

According to published reports from a police affidavit, Raymer was arrested in May in the 1500 block of Ridge Avenue in Sharpsville after hitting a parked car with his pickup truck.

His blood-alcohol count was 0.24 percent, which at the time was more than 2 times the legal limit at the time.
