Taxes to stay the same
in 2004, supervisor says

Taxes will remain unchanged for 2004 in South Pymatuning Township, according to Supervisor Michael Nashtock.

Supervisors approved a proposed $996,754 budget last week that is supported by 5.075 mills, of which 0.525 mills is earmarked for the fire department.

A mill is $1 for every $1,000 of assessed property; assessments are a property's 1970 market value. At 5.075 mills, a house assessed at $15,000 would have a tax bill of $76. Each mill brings in about $24,000 to the township.

Supervisors plan to adopt a final budget on Dec. 9, Nashtock said.
