Problem is part of a larger one

By Joe Pinchot

Instead of placing blame on individuals, Gary P. Hinkson is trying to fix a storm water drainage problem.

That's not good enough for Anthony LaScola.

The 758 Bobwhite Drive, Hermitage, resident, said he has been complaining for 11 months about what he calls an illegal drainage pipe his neighbor installed and is dumping water onto the back of his property.

LaScola said the water has rendered about 4,000 square feet of his property unusable because of standing water, and he's not able to get a push mower through the area.

The water is eroding the back of his property, LaScola said, and making it a prime mosquito breeding ground.

LaScola's problem is part of a larger problem with stormwater drainage on Bobwhite and Scott Drive, which runs parallel to Bobwhite, down to Robertson Road, said Hinkson, city manager.
