Mercer County will soon add another high-tech tool to its crime-fighting arsenal. Don Fedorczyk, coordinator of the county's Intermediate Punishment Program, told the prison board that the county's Justice Network system is ready to get up and running. "All of the communications and data servers are in place, and we're ready to go as far as connecting with the state is concerned," he said. The program, dubbed JNET, allows local police to electronically share information with other county, state and federal offices. The county entered a grant agreement in May to pay for half of the purchase of the equipment, and has been working on getting the computers installed since. |
