More than $800,000 in federal and state disaster relief has either made its way to Mercer County, or will be here shortly, in the wake of severe summer storms and flooding.

According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency Web site, $617,102 in public assistance has been awarded to county municipalities through Nov. 11 to repair damage and meet other expenses from the storms.

Among the areas those dollars are earmarked for are infrastructure repair, including roads, sewers and bridges.

FEMA also noted that 81 individuals were approved for $168,315 for housing assistance and 23 for other needs assistance for a total of $206,586.

A spokeswoman for the Mercer County Emergency Management Agency said Tuesday some of the money has already been distributed while some was still in the process of being distributed. An official from FEMA also said Tuesday no breakdown of the distribution by municipality was available.

Relief to 11 northwestern Pennsylvania counties affected by the storms has topped $8.2 million and FEMA has received 1,318 applications from victims in those counties.

Individual and household grants totaled nearly $2.1 million, the Public Assistance Program for state agencies and local governments were about $5.1 million and the U.S. Small Business Administration disaster loan program distributed about $1.1 million.

Other amounts awarded in the region through Nov. 11 included:
