for 2 decades By Patrecka F. Adams Herald Staff Writer Otis Whitman made a promise to God one day that he would do His work for the rest of his days. And Whitman kept that promise without failure, volunteering his time to help Sister Benita Repasky with what would become Farrell's Prince of Peace Center. Then one day, while working in the center, his days came to an end, and he passed away while carrying out that promise. Whitman's daughter, Carolyn Harris, stepped squarely into her father's shoes and said her dad's giving spirit is one that continues to drive her in her capacity as the center's thrift store coordinator. "I'm walking in my father's footsteps," the Sharon woman said. "The (center) does a lot for the community here." |
