Gusty winds and snow Friday into Saturday morning left roads slick, but serious problems were kept to a minimum.

The heaviest snow fell at about noon Friday -- just shy of half an inch at the Youngstown Warren Regional Airport, Vienna, Ohio -- which also is when the winds began to pick up.

Since then, snow has fallen sporadically and the winds have fluctuated, with gusts up to 30 mph recorded.

Temperatures got above freezing late Saturday morning, helping to melt accumulated snow and ice.

Mercer County 911 reported accidents all over the county, but they generally were minor.

Randy Coleman, area manager for Pennsylvania Power Co., said fewer than 125 homes lost power overnight and by 3:30 p.m. Saturday only one customer was left without service.

Hempfield Township police patrolman David Gregory reported slick roads.
