Burn victim listed in serious condition

John "Babe" Pollock, who was injured in an Oct. 3 house fire, was listed in serious condition Saturday at Akron General Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Pollock's son, Mark, 46, died of smoke inhalation shortly after being rescued from the fire at 18 Old Bedford Road, and his wife, Shirley, 75, who also was critically injured in the fire, died Nov. 23.

Pollock, 74, was in the regional burn trauma unit of Akron Children's Hospital until mid-November.

Mark Pollock was a Shenango Township volunteer firefighter, and a former West Middlesex firefighter.
