A Fredonia man scheduled to take a seat in January on council in the borough of about 650 was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia during a seat belt safety check in Mercer. Gregory A. Harris, 42, of 55 Main St., who was elected Nov. 4 with seven write-in votes, was picked up at 2 p.m. Nov. 26 on North Maple Street by borough police. During the seat belt check, police said they smelled an odor of marijuana and asked Harris if they could search his vehicle. During the search, police found two marijuana cigarettes, and eight plastic bags of marijuana. Harris was arraigned before District Justice Ruth M. French, Mercer, and released on $10,000 bond. |
