Shotgun incident will cost man more than $1,000

A Brookfield man will have to pay more than $1,000 in fines and court costs after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an incident in which he allegedly pointed a shotgun at a man outside a Lackawannock Township business.

Dennis Bruce Clark, 55, of 178 Brook Drive, recently pleaded guilty before District Justice Ruth M. French, Mercer, to harassment and two counts of disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay $900 in fines and $158 in court costs.

Charges of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment were withdrawn.

According to a police affidavit: the man and two witnesses said Clark started arguing with a man in the parking lot of a business on U.S. Route 62. Clark then got into his pickup and pulled out a pump-style shotgun, which witnesses said, he then pumped and pointed at the man who grabbed the gun as a struggle ensued.

Clark then drove away and police later picked him up at a New Castle Avenue address in Sharon.
