The 16th annual Veterans Outreach Day is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 11 in Sharon American Legion Post 299, 1395 E. State St.

Veterans can get assistance in applying for benefits and military-related services.

UPMC Horizon will provide free flu shots to all veterans presenting their DD214. Blood-sugar screenings also will be available to those who fast for three hours. Blood-pressure tests, skin-cancer screenings and information on cancer, strokes, nutrition and general wellness will be available.

A pharmacist will check prescriptions to see if they are outdated, and Dr. Bruce Abbott, a podiatrist, will give free foot screenings. Information: 724-347-9257, ext. 117.
