Countians earn honors at Allegheny

Area students were named 2003-04 Alden Scholars at Allegheny College, Meadville.

Andrew C. Hazi, son of Francis and Rosalie Hazi, Mercer, is a sophomore and a Mercer High School alumnus.

Carrie J. Lonsinger, daughter of Kathy Czerr, Sharon, and James Lonsinger, Sharpsville, is a junior political science major.

Daniel J. Mastarone, son of James and Nancy Mastarone, Mercer, is a junior chemistry major and a Grove City High School alumnus.

Andrew E. McAdams, son of Carl and Pearletta McAdams, Fredonia, and Mary Pollock, Sharon, is a sophomore.

John R. Miller, son of Mark and Susan Miller, Hermitage, is a junior chemistry major.

Jennifer L. Mitcheltree, daughter of Richard and Christine Mitcheltree, Sharon, is a senior biology major.

Kelsey L. Oakes, daughter of Donald and Cathy Oakes, Sandy Lake, is a junior international study and French major.

Christopher N. Rorabaugh, son of Kevin and Judith Rorabaugh, Hermitage, is a senior communication arts and music major.

Kristen R. Walcott, daughter of Richard and Kathleen Walcott, Hermitage, was named a Distinguished Alden Scholar. She is a junior applied computing and mathematics major.

Ms. Lonsinger and Ms. Mitcheltree are Sharon High School alumnae; McAdams and Ms. Oakes, Lakeview High School alumni; Miller, Rorabaugh and Ms. Walcott, all alumni of Hickory High School, Hermitage.

To qualify, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.2 or higher during the preceding academic year.

Distinguished Alden Scholar awards are given to those who maintain a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
