A Meadville man accused of stealing a powerful painkiller from a Greenville drug store will face robbery charges in Mercer County Common Pleas Court. District Justice William Fagley, Greenville, held all charges against Alan Summerville for court at a preliminary hearing Tuesday. Summerville is charged with three counts of felony robbery, theft, and possession of a controlled substance. Greenville-West Salem Township police arrested Summerville Nov. 21 at Crawford County Jail, where he had been incarcerated on unrelated charges since October. A warrant had been issued for his arrest, police said. Summerville, police said, was the man who walked into the Rite-Aid on Main Street in Greenville at 4:28 p.m. Oct. 4 claiming to have a gun. He allegedly told pharmacists to hand over the store's supply of the prescription painkiller OxyContin and they gave him 80 pills, police said. |
