Richard L. Sherbondy, who served as a Sugar Grove Township supervisor for the past decade, has died after a battle with cancer.

Sherbondy, 69, of 372 Groover Road, died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday in UPMC Horizon, Greenville.

He was the current chairman of the township's board and was self-employed as an antique furniture restorer for more than 20 years.
