By Patrecka F. Adams Herald Staff Writer Officials in the Farrell Area School District want the state budget impasse settled very soon, or the district may be forced to dip into its tax anticipation note to pay its bills. The district was approved for a note last month for more than $1.4 million, but Superintendent Richard Rubano said he really hopes it won't have to be spent. "Hopefully, we won't have to touch it. That's the worst case scenario," he said. "We're hearing some positive things coming out of Harrisburg, but we're not sure." According to Michael Stabile, business administrator, there is about $700,000 left in the district's cash reserve. Rubano told the audience at Monday night's school board meeting that those reserves will run out sometime next month. |
