A car accident plunged 612 people in Hermitage into darkness Sunday morning, said Randy Coleman, area manager for Penn Power. A car struck a utility pole on state Route 18 in the Morefield Road area of the city, Coleman said, shearing off the pole. Many of the homes in the area, including a multi-unit apartment complex, were without power for about two hours, according to Mercer County 911. "We had most people restored by 12:30 p.m.," Coleman said. "This is just another case of car vs. pole, where the pole won." A supervisor at Mercer County 911 said he didn't believe anyone was injured in the accident. ----------sty------> |
